Transcribed Image Text: Question 3.
Biochemistry techniques have been used for the analysis on biomolecules such as enzymes,
DNA, antibodies and other molecules in biomedical engineering.
b) ELISA is a plate-based assay technique, designed for detecting and quantifying substances
such as peptides, proteins, antibodies and hormones. Examine two principles of ELISA.
c) Gel electrophoresis is a laboratory technique, used to separate the mixture of macro-
molecules such as DNA, RNA and proteins according to their molecular size.
i. Analyze the characteristics of DNA molecule that affect the separation results in
the gel electrophoresis.
ii. Examine three common factors that are possibly affect the performance of gel
electrophoresis.
