The instructor shall discuss the Legal aspects of treating HIV/AIDS patients. The specific subjects to be discussed are: (a) consent to treatment; (b) the significant exposures to HIV/AIDS; (c) methods of disclosure; (d) confidentiality; (e) clinician immunity from prosecution; (f) testing of pregnant women. Following the presentation, each student will submit a two page paper discussing the legal requirements for the treatment of HIV/AIDS patients.
